Sara Emery

Coach

I am a wife to my husband of 19 years, mother of 4 beautiful children, homemaker, registered Cosmetologist, Certified

NASM Personal Trainer and currently working on my Certified Nutrition Coaching specialization. Before coming on board to coach with MelFit, I was accountability coaching clients for nutrition and weight loss.

Fitness has always been a passion of mine. I was an active kid and loved sports. I was a 3-sport athlete in high school and

also played fast pitch softball on a college scholarship. Although I stayed moderately fitthroughout my younger years, the

weight really crept on as I began to have babies. Every pregnancy, I gained 50lbs and although I lost all my baby weight

after my first, I proceeded to gain 60lbs with my twins. While struggling at home to keep 2-year-old and twin babies safe

and healthy, I had a tough time prioritizing my own health and my weight continued to be an overwhelming problem. Over

the next 6 years, I lost enough weight to get me to 180-190lbs, butI didn’t like my body, how I looked in pictures and I

certainly didn’t have a positive self-image. My weight affected me in so many areas of life. I also didn’t feel great most of

the time due to swelling, joint pain, mental depression, and overall disappointment with life.

As I continued working at losing weight, we also made a move to the Silver Valley where I joined a small tight knit group of

ladies who worked out together in a garage gym. As I built community, learned CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting, a fire

was ignited in me forfitness and nutrition. 4 years later we moved back to Post Falls, and I got pregnant again with our 4th

baby. This is where my weight peaked at the heaviestI had ever been: 250lbs! It is even still hard for me to admit to it. I

remember everything about how I felt during that time like it was yesterday. I can’t even find very many pictures of myself

because of how ashamed I was of how I looked. But down deep inside, I still had dreams for myself. I still wanted to figure out how to be healthy, love my body and live a life of joy for myself and my family!

On Mother’s Day back in 2022, still weighing 200 lbs., I made myself a nutrition plan and lost 12 lbs. in 2 weeks. Next, I

joined a gym at 188lbs. I was determined to get healthy, be proud of my body and love my life again. Along this 2-year

journey, I experienced victories and success along with countless setbacks, injuries, personal failures, and times where I

was so disappointed in myself for not sticking to my eating plan. I have spiraled into binge eating and have overeaten to

the point of feeling sick. I have felt guilty, ashamed, and unlovely so many times. Nothing about my journey was picture

perfect, in fact, it was messy! On top of it all, even when I was successful with my nutrition, I lost weight VERY slowly. I had

to preach patience to myself and trust the process. I began to really dig into educating myself on nutrition and pushing myself at my workouts.

In the fall of 2023 at 160 lbs., I began my NASM CPT certification process and continued working hard at my nutrition. I

reached my goal weight in Spring of 2024 and have been maintaining since then. I have learned so much about myself,

fitness, and the path to permanent weight loss. I am so proud of myself for not giving up! I am now experiencing a completely different life and I’m excited to help others walk the road I’ve been on! I will never go back!

What’s so amazing about MelFit is that YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I was alone (my wonderful hubby had his hands full) and it

was so hard. While I had to tirelessly search for effective nutrition education and constantly muster my own motivation,
